The practice

Thought leadership is the most abused phrase in Indian communications, usually meaning a bylined article nobody finished reading. What earns citation is original argument backed by evidence somebody else does not have. That is a research problem before it is a writing problem.

Original or nothing

Restating the category consensus in your own words produces content. Producing a number, a framework or a counter-argument the category has not seen produces authority. We start every long form programme by finding what you know that others do not.

Where the evidence comes from

Your own operating data, anonymised and aggregated. Structured interviews with your customers or your market. A survey of a population nobody has surveyed. The bar is that a journalist could build a story from it.

Publishing architecture

One substantial piece of work is not one asset. A research report becomes a press angle, a keynote, a podcast argument, six social posts, a sales one-pager and a citation magnet. We plan that fan-out before writing begins.

Owned audience

Platform audiences are rented. A newsletter list, an original report download and a research subscriber base are the assets you keep when an algorithm changes.

How the work runs

Four stages, each with a definition of done.

Stage 01

Find the argument

Working sessions to surface the thesis you can defend and nobody else is making.

Stage 02

Build the evidence

Data pull, survey design or interview programme, then analysis.

Stage 03

Write and structure

Long form draft in your voice, edited to be quotable, with the fan-out mapped.

Stage 04

Publish and place

Release, media approach, stage submissions and the derivative assets.

Services

What we actually do inside it.

Ghostwriting

Essays and bylines written in your voice, not a house voice.

Thought Leadership

Frequently asked

Thought Leadership, in plain terms.

How long does a research report take?

Eight to twelve weeks from thesis to publication, depending on whether the data exists already or has to be collected.

Will journalists actually use it?

They use original numbers about a market they cover and cannot get elsewhere. They ignore opinion pieces. That is the whole design principle.

Can we repeat it annually?

That is the point. An annual index that the category starts waiting for is one of the strongest authority assets available.
