The role

A visually obsessive designer who can take a brief from idea through design, edit and export without repeatedly handing off basic execution.

Core responsibilities

  • Conceptualise and produce high-quality graphics, social creatives, carousels, campaign assets, thumbnails, presentation visuals and digital brand collateral.
  • Create short-form video including Reels, Shorts, social ads, teasers, edits, interviews, event snippets and product storytelling.
  • Create and edit long-form video such as interviews, podcasts, brand films, founder stories, case studies, explainers and event films.
  • Translate a written brief, reference, rough idea or verbal direction into a strong visual execution.
  • Handle end-to-end post-production: ingesting footage, organising assets, editing, colour correction, sound cleanup, motion graphics, captions and transitions.
  • Develop motion graphics and visual effects appropriate to the brand rather than relying on generic templates.
  • Adapt content across platform specifications, aspect ratios and duration requirements while retaining creative impact.
  • Participate in shoots when required and support camera setup, framing, lighting, basic audio and on-location production.
  • Maintain organised project files, source assets, editable files, exports and naming conventions so work stays scalable and recoverable.
  • Work closely with Creative Designers, Brand Managers, PR teams and clients to execute campaign assets within deadlines.
  • Research emerging visual trends, editing techniques, AI tools and production workflows, and selectively apply what improves output.

Technical and tool expectations

  • Strong command of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Working knowledge of Lightroom, InDesign and other relevant Adobe applications is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with current video, motion, design, AI-generation and workflow tools used in the market.
  • Strong understanding of typography, composition, hierarchy, colour, visual rhythm, pacing, transitions and platform-native design.
  • Ability to edit footage to music, dialogue and narrative beats rather than simply assembling clips.
  • Understanding of export codecs, resolution, compression, frame rates, audio levels and platform requirements.
  • Camera handling, basic cinematography, lighting and on-ground shoot experience are a significant advantage.

Ideal candidate

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience preferred; an exceptional portfolio can compensate for a shorter tenure.
  • Portfolio matters more than designation history. We want to see actual work and measurable creative quality.
  • A visually obsessive person who notices spacing, alignment, pacing, transitions and small production flaws.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback, iterating rapidly and defending creative choices when there is a strong rationale.
  • Capable of moving from idea to design to edit to export without repeatedly handing off basic execution.

How success is measured

  • Consistent delivery of high-quality creative assets within agreed timelines.
  • Strong portfolio-level quality across both static and motion formats.
  • Low rework caused by avoidable technical or attention-to-detail errors.
  • Ability to independently take a brief and return with a polished, usable output.
  • Increasing speed, quality and creative range over time.

Expected in every role at Influence

  • Ownership. Take responsibility from brief to final output, including follow-ups and corrections.
  • Output orientation. Work against clear deliverables, deadlines, quality standards and client expectations.
  • Speed with judgement. Move quickly without compromising brand quality or creating avoidable errors.
  • Attention to detail. Catch inconsistencies in design, copy, video, communication, timelines and execution before delivery.
  • Adaptability. Work across different industries, personalities, brands, formats and campaign requirements.
  • Collaboration. Coordinate effectively with founders, brand managers, PR teams, designers, creators, clients and vendors.
  • Professional discipline. Maintain punctuality, confidentiality, responsiveness and reliable follow-through.
  • Learning velocity. Keep up with evolving platforms, formats, tools, creator ecosystems and AI-enabled workflows.
